Playa Blanca
In the last 20 years, Playa Blanca has developed from a little fishing village with only 30 houses into one of the most modern beach resorts in the Canary Islands. The special climate in the south of Lanzarote, the amazing beaches of Papagayo next door, and the especially good infrastructure, is the reason why a lot of 5 star hotels , as well as generously designed urban areas have established themselves here. Whilst developing Playa Blanca over the last few years, the planners have avoided the pitfalls of some of the other tourist regions, they have managed to blend in the old town with the new.
